... were a total of 8 divers. In this group of divers the youngest
was 14 and the oldest was in his 50's.
Wow what a way to make a living,
Then back to the ship to cast off at 6pm.
The weather was hot and humid about 92 degrees.
A nice refreshing dip in the pool was a great way to cool off.
... br>The history of Acapulco (per the tour book), is a city of about 700,000 people. This became
a major port back in the 1500's due to the arrival of Hernan Cortez,
which at that time many treasures were shipped to Mexico City and on to Spain. After World War 2 this became a favorite
vacation spot.More to come!
... the anthropological museum, arguably one of the best museums I´ve been to. A huge and thorough museum totally dedicated to Mexican history, with an audio guide to do the telling.

... from ice cream to flip flops, and extreme heat. Definately an interesting difference from the capital city. At any rate, we sat on the beach, soaked up some sun, went wading in the ocean (the huge waves made it difficult to actually go swimming), wandered around the main historical square, etc. We also watched the ...
Acapulco, Pacific Coast, Mexico kimandjohn... rock in the road earlier on. Sure enough there were some rock falls round some bends, but fortunetely none that large.
When I got to Acapulco I took the toll road to the airport which is close to the Mayan Palace.
Luxury for afew nights for accomodation anyway. Still trying to keep the budget tight sowent off to Wal Mart for some food, a bit of self catering, and the food stalls at the shoppping centre were good and cheap.
Another long 10 hour bus ride and here I am, 6 hours from Mexico City at a huge port filled with pirates. On the ride here, i started to see some true signs of that stereotypical Mexic. No more green forested fields and lush tropics of the Caribbean and well watered gardens of San Cristobal de las Casas. As I headed north along the Pacific coast, the trees thinned out, the green grass turned brown then eventually to dust and small shrubs and cactus ...
Acapulco, Pacific Coast, Mexico muzz_travelling... winter! We used this "low season" to our advantage, and managed to score a room in a luxury hotel with it´s own private beach, 5 swimming pools and a water slide, on the cheap. The majority of our time was spent on the beach or in the pool.... doing absolutely nothing!!
Acapulco, Mexico tahliejohn... our sympathy level for them (in turn shelling out more money), or were they really praying for a high probability of loss of their lives. When you think of the latter, you definately end up shelling out more money. The food was beautiful: fajitas, enchiladas, pina coladas, salsa, quesidillas!! 100% All Natural restuarant....veggies: highly recommend it!
