Sierra de Gredos
Leaving behind the storks and yellow plains of Ávila we began a brief ascent and then a long winding descent into the mountains and forests of Sierra de Gredos.
Staying in a lodge above the small town of Candeleda where we had a great view of the valley below which for some reason made me think of Africa. I kept expecting a herd of wildebeest to suddenly sweep past.

Home from home
Yesterday was a nightmare; today, I flew. Glorious weather, glorious scenery, glorious flowers – poppies, cornflowers, lavender, honeysuckle, and lots of different yellow stuff – pretty cows. The strapping tape worked and my feet were okay. A bit more than 30km, and I still feel human. Must remember it on the next downer.
