First stages of planning
... s why this year I'd decided to "test the water" a bit by travelling alone to Chiang Mai, Thailand for two weeks in November 2012. Everyday I'd talk to people about their travelling experiences and get some advice from them. I don't know if I was surprised or not, or maybe I was not expecting it, but people are so willing to help a fellow traveller out. Even though I wasn't travelling anywhere myself.

And now we have an N.I.E.
... process. It was a bit like a herd of cattle being moved through various gates. Of course the fault was ours. Learning to speak Spanish is definitely something on our radar now!Afterwards we celebrated with a lovely lunch in Alicante before we took the tram home again.
My photos aren't very exciting but we used the tram this morning and walked a few km to our destination and back again so I'll post those too.

A city with lots of Palm Trees

Elche's modern industry is the manufacturing of shoes.There are more than 1000 footware factories in the area. The city is 11 km from the sea and after our morning visit we drove to Santa Pola for lunch near the harbor.
It was a lovely day trip and one we will surely recommend to visitors!

Christmas time is here!
Today was a great day. It started out as normal, me doing school work. Then I went into town and met with a couple friends. Olivia lives in an apartment and she bought Christmas decorations! It was so fun and we had a great time. On my way to class I walked past the mercado, which was all light up! It is so beautiful! ...
Cats and more cats
... again. It's funny how you forget to do the simplest things e.g. stowing the fenders before getting out of the harbour! It was nothing that couldn’t be sorted out anyway.
