... was closed. It was not only a Sunday but the church holiday of All Saints Day. We instead went to a small town called Gata, yes meaning female cat. There was a small bodega which sold the wine so we got to go there and taste a very tiny portion and taste almond nugget. Neither were good. Then we drove to another small town all closed up and got to have ...
Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands mamafeathersThe day as finally arrived to begin our 6 month break, away from the damp, wet climate of Mid Wales. The plan is to drive from here to Portsmouth to catch the Pride of Bilbao ferry bound for Bilbao, a journey that takes about 36 hours. The only part to worry about is the crossing across the ...
Lo Pagán, Murcia, Spain and Canary Islands lowrus... we went to see and in Altea there was a beautiful rocky beach where Cristina and I had a really good heart to heart about our lives. Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands jessicahwang... I wish my friends could be here with me. I know they would love this place. I wish they could visit. But all in all, I know that I have to do this on my own, though I'm lucky to have found such a great friend and companion in Elizabeth.<br>I hope that Alicante becomes someplace that I treasure forever. And more so that I learn Spanish and that it shows me that I can do something great, be something great, and be me. At my best.

El Palmar, Murcia, Spain chris_jones01Has to be the funniest morning yet. The three of us and the two Belgians got up early to get some breakfast from the cafeteria. We mistakenly thought it was all you can eat. . . It wasnt. We were the first group of people in the cafeteria and we tried to make 5 sandwiches each and stuff our pockets full of fruit and biscuits for the day. We used up all of the cheese and ham which was laid out on individual plates. The ...
Orihuela, Valencia, Spain chris_jones01So Alex had to go back to the consulate in the morning and being true friends me and Olly decided to join him. In the Brittish consulate you basically have about 15 people at any time who have had their passports robbed. During our short stay we spoke to a few fellow British people around us. A particularily funny convosation started with an old british man who was keen to share his words of wisdom, unfortunately, he was not even slightly wise. He started the ...
Alacante, Valencia, Spain chris_jones01So, day 2 in Alacant. Had to start off by finding the British consulate so Alex can get a new passport. After a pretty standard day we bought some cheap Sangria and food which we cooked in the courtyard of the hostel. Thats right 7 euros a night and it has an f-in courtyard. We cooked food, drank and ate with a few of the German dudes whilst the rest of the guys where lost in the city. After ...
Alacante, Valencia, Spain chris_jones01Pete felt there was a small weather window in which we could sail a little further down the coast to Cartagena, so upon the threat of a very painful death if the sail was too uncomfortable we headed off. Lucky for him a relatively smooth ride compared to others and we pulled into Cartagena Marina just as the rain started. We had a wild night in the marina with torrential rain and howling wind. Even though we were tied up if felt like we ...
