    We were up at 7.45am after a rather bad nights sleep. After breakfast we were unsuccessful once again in face timing the kids. We caught the number 34 bus to Plaza Mayor, Sol, Callao. The markets were absolutely amazing with hundreds of stalls winding down & around very narrow streets. I've never seen so many leather items, bags, jackets, belts etc. I could have stayed there for hours, very hot in the sun but beautiful at stalls under big shaded trees. We had ...

    We are now on the meseta, the flat lands that a lot of people actually bike or skip. We've been doing longer hikes to get through it but I think it's more tolerable now that we are getting into shape. It's been chilly in the mornings and hot during the day. I feel really good except for a blister on each heal, so hopefully the blister fairy comes soon to get them. Last night we stayed in probably the best albergue yet.     ... a Coke and tonic water and I iced my knee. Took pain killers, rubbed on some voltaran. Away we went with a few prayers. My knee did improve quickly and we finished our 20 km for the day.
