A long journey to Porto Seguro
... are amazing,specially because of the landscape,but too touristic for my taste. Bars are located on the beach,so close that you can touch the water while you sit drinking a caipirinha. Its a great place to get drunk and burnt on the beach. It has probably been better with less people. I stayed one day,went to the beach,had a nice lunch by the sea,and left in the morning. Rain and more rain
... we were not so lucky. The town is very up market so everything is a little more pricey. The town had a Somerset West feel, so I felt right at home. Again alot of crafts and great resturants. Amazing at night. There is a cabo stone street with resturants, bars and shops, all just open at night, with beautiful lights and live music. What a vibe. We'll stop there again on our way back to enjoy the beach and visit the ...
FROM RIO TO SALVADOR
... Itaunus which is like Atlantis except it was buried by shifting dunes. Funnily there’s not much to see except the sand and an occasional telegraph pole top. The village was rebuilt about 40 years ago further away from the dunes…but guess what…nature is creeping up again.
Finally we have found luxury in Porto Seguro…an upmarket camp site with hot water (no frogs) and wifi, and a good per kilo restaurant. We are going inland from here.
