Porto Seguro, State of Bahia, Brazil pamericas... commune which still has that feel to it. It has a very peaceful grassy common lined with colourful houses situated on top of a cliff overlooking tropical beaches; the view at night especially was just wonderful. Highlights of our too short a stay there were swimming before breakfast, relaxing in the hammocks and getting to know Gustavo and Ana's lovely dogs and the naughty street dogs who spent all day running around on the beach...what a life!
Trancoso, Bahia, Brazil sethandkate... After lots of laughing and sputtering we made it. Monica could touch bottom but Anita had to swim...none of our stuff got wet though!! Then our next obstacle was some cliffs that ran into the water. Not high but menacing enough from afar. So we decided to try taking the road around...but it ended up turning the wrong way so we turned back towards the beach. We made it across the cliffs just fine...a bit of rock climbing in bathing ...
Trancoso, Brazil monita... my spiking may suck, this scares me as I don´t pass or set very well, and that means I´ll suck at all three aspects of volleyball, not cool). But I jump over it (it was close though) and the kids are awestruck. I raise my hands in triumph and declare myself as the Best American Honky High Jumper in all of Porto Seguro. I´m pretty sure I´m the only American here, but just in case a black dude from America is here, I don´t want to lie and ...
Porto Seguro, Brazil merkdog4... should share. I run into some dudes dressed as Incas or some ****, which is kinda weird, but the cool thing is they have huge wooden blow guns which shoot out wooden darts. They let me play and I bang out a couple of the darts and stick them into a nearby tree. I have mad blow gun skills from all the times I have blown toothpicks out of a straw into a friends styrofoam glass at Goodwins. This thing is dope and I want one more than ...
Porto Seguro, Brazil merkdog4... I was very happy to bump into musicians again!!). I met this music producer in São Paolo who told me I could stay in his house when I get there. I've noticed that Brazilians are always very happy to show you their city and welcome you in their house after knowing you for only ten minutes. But it's all very genuine and sincere, no faked nicities and that's what I like about them. I wanted to leave on Saturday already but they wouldn't let me go ...
Porto Seguro, Brazil ernamaria... balcony, hammock, kitchen, ocean view, mosquitos and all, and make our way through the Quadrado (the square) noticing it´s nighttime appeal as every establishment on its four sides is lit up to boast its colorful facade. A stroll to the bluff was always in order at nearly 6:15pm every night in order to ...
Trancoso, Brazil ashifreeshma... It was the Saturday night of the Brazilian holiday weekend when we arrived so we were expecting some form of nightlife to entertain ourselves. However all we could find was a bar with three fruits enticing people in, and quite frankly the lady boys prancing around just weren't doing it for us. The drink was a swift one and we called it a night early doors. The following day we took a donder along the beach before jumping on a bus to travel to the ...
Trancoso, Arraial d'Ajuda, Porto Seguro, Brazil daryll... according to the weight of our food. Very good value and excellent quality. On Friday morning, we made our way down to the beach with our our now customary breakfast of a one-litre bottle of drinking yogurt and some fruit (plus baked goody for Rich). We spent another blissful day walking Bahia´s long, pristine white beaches, swimming, body-surfing... and people-watching, of course. We decided to spend another night in Arraial to soak up the festive vibe. That evening, the ...
