I got off to have a stretch and go to the toilet and when I sat back down she didn't sit next to me. So I got a good few hours of sleep and space. ... entourage at the pool and bar area (we had to google him to understand the significance and comprehend his excitement). We didn't have to google Neymar and Messi, the soccer players, we were also hanging out in Trancoso during the holidays. The people I was sitting with were telling me a lot about the beach, and ...

... State. This was the first time I've ever stayed on a plane while they refuelled and boarded a whole new set of passengers. I had hoped I'd manage a kip but no such luck and landed on an overcast morning in Porto Seguro where the air was tangibly moist and the Swiss team had their World Cup base.

After paying a whopping 60 Reals (18) for a cab to my hostel which appeared to be about as far away from anything as a thing could be I met the owner Paul, a jolly ...

... locals and their lorries, cars and bikes and took the 10 minute ride to the other side. There a taxi ran us to the hostel ... And we came across our first real basic accommodation. The hostel fits perfectly into the slightly hippie vibe we first encountered in Arrial and whilst we had absolutely no complaints the private 3 bed room we'd been looking forward to was literally a room with a double and single bed, and a padlock on the door. It brought us closer with nature at least. As ...
