... we met earlier on in the trip. On his advice, I learned of a Casa in a neighboring town that would pick you up and re-deposit you in the morning. I called her, she had a room, and she picked us up. We shared our first moment as she got the car stuck in a ditch on attempting a very tight right turn. After some tire spinning, stalling, and helpful hints from people walking by in languages she didn't understand, we exited the ditch ...

Leon to Villavente - (8.5 by bus) and 23.3 kms Clive woke unwell. He had a fever during the night, now has a very sore throat, but the legs are feeling better. ... reasonable climb up to Foncebadon, getting closer to the snow capped peaks we have been photographing for the past week. They scenery just opens up and gets bigger and bigger with every twist in the track up the mountain. Could not find an outlet for "Real" Coffee in Foncebadon so we got a bit stressed over that as this the highlight of the day to get "Real" Coffee first thing.
Only 2km up to the "Cruz Fero" ...

... the loft! Only 3 floors, this is the old city, just 50 metres from the cathedral, and you have to use stairs, so low is good. I have a double bed ALL TO MYSELF for 2 nights! I have a spa shower - that's two different overhead showers, a foot spray shower and a place to sit while it pumbles your back! Feeling loved! Ah bliss! Heaven! So grateful for the simple things AND I get a bed with sheets and REAL towels for two days. Die for material - grateful. ...
