... point, it became apparent to me that I'd be surrounded by urban jungle soon, amd if I wanted to eat, I'd better just do it. So i found a cleanish curb, sat down, and made the best of it. I knew that I still had a number of kilometers to go, but I was not in a pedestrian zone, no food available nor places to sit. I was on my own again when I caught up to Debbie. Most people of a certain age--over 40--carry smaller bags. We either ship them and carry daypacks or are ...

... he didn't have to. The albergue is okay, but everyone is very quiet and sad. An old fat man in prominently displayed white polka dotted tighty-whiteys is laying provocatively in the corner of the room. Sitting in my room now, it sounds like Monte Carlo must do during the Grand Prix. The start is very close by. It's a genteel place otherwise, and I might take myself off for a nice supper after I've had a shower.

... br> The dorm had perhaps 10 or 12 bunks (20-24 beds). It was nearly dark when we turned in, and almost everyone else was in bed and sleeping, or preparing to sleep ... except for the man in the bunk beneath D. Hard to believe, but he was on the phone having a conversation with a woman ... and he was on speakerphone!! How does that happen??!! D approached this man´s bed and looked at him and gave him a shrugging of the shoulder´s gesture that was intended ...
