Today we went to church and joined the locals in praising the Master. It was an amazing service delivered by a pastor that is going into open heart surgery tomorrow. Can you imagine having a job so important that you would go to work the day before such life threatening surgery? My thought is that he would give his life to get just one more for the Kingdom.

We have been busy relaxing so I had to back log some entries! Today we woke up early and were picked up by a taxi to go on a catamaran. We were with two women from Ontario, Canada in the taxi shuttle. The driver did not speak much English but was very nice and stopped at a spot down the road where the famous airplane hotel is to show us the squirrel (titi) monkeys. We were pumped, but gave ourselves an extra day to rest before going as we were exhausted from the adventure day and couldn't fathom shopping for food, organizing all of our stuff for a hike and another 4:00 am morning. ... to reverse my first impressions, having had our camera stolen and succumbing to the bed bugs again! In that time I really got a feel for the soft nature of the locals and was pleasantly surprised by the breadth of outdoor activities the country has to offer. I took on some of m biggest physical challenges here, gained a few new scars!, discovered a new love for yoga and truly relaxed ahead of the long journey home! ... influence on me though is my Spanish teacher Ana who instantaneously dispelled all my previous poor conceptions of Spanish teachers and turned those two hours of class a day into something I truly looked forward to. The themes in class were light mostly revolving around our fiestas, dancing, home and female interests but I have to say without her I wouldn't have come on so much in my Spanish which is finally reaching conversational level.
