... we were racing up. Had to wait for the other two at stages, but that provided good opportunities to take in the landscape and the occasional panoramic view of the area. At the top, before the brief decent down to the lagoon, there was a magnificent view if the arenal volcano. We got a photo of ourselves with it just in time - before a cloud front came in and covered it for the rest of the afternoon.
