THe rain holds off long enough for the wedding

... were able to enjoy the time. Tim, Kate and Nathan and Jayden got away in the limo just in time before the rain poured down. We went and collected the boys and then later headed back to the Jodie and Gary's for the night. Hope Tim and Kate enjoy a great honeymoon in Tasmania and then have a blessed and love filled marriage. Congrats guys.

The Road Back to Perth

... a year old so was in excellent nick. It was very similar to our previous campervan but a little bigger, so we were really pleased with the deal.

As Tracey hadn’t yet seen anything of the city centre of Perth, we drove around in the van for a while so that she could take a quick look around before we headed back to Ilija’s in time for dinner. Although it was a Saturday afternoon, it was the day of the Australian Football League final ...

... have both lived in the tiny country of Scotland I find it unlikely. He does little to impress me as within the first 5 minutes he is taking 20 dollars off some guy who accidently spilt his pint. Not the kind of thing that impresses Van Basten. We sit down at this outside table and there are a group of guys next to us who keep looking over. After about half an hour I ask the guy what the issue is and he merely states that someone at our table was about to ...

The Journey Begins

So the big trip finally arrived. My first sojourn to the United States after many years of wanting to go and many an opportunity that had finally arisen. The main reason of course being the wedding of a good friend from uni days who I hadn't seen in several years.

I began the trip from work so I deboganised (shower, shave and polish the double pluggers) and I was on my way. A quick stopover in Perth before the redeye flight had me running a little late and I was rushing ...

Small town, Big city.

... they just had 2 weeks of rain so good timing..yay.

The city itself it very laidback, quaint yet it is defo a city, that is why i describe as a small town, big city...it has the small town feel with the big city atmosphere but not too big of course, it's all relative. It's set on the Swan River which feeds into the Indian Ocean. It has many parks including a huge one where i found the gorgeous Botanic Gardens, atop a hill, which also gives a great ...

GOODBYE AUSTRALIA!!!!!

... with Perth until the Thursday, by then we'd heard enough stories of despair from other travelers to help us with our decision. We had to get out of there. Pronto. On the Friday morning, we were up bright and early to see if we'd had any replies from employers and when we were greeted with empty in - boxes, we decided to look at flights. Destination unknown. We could have blown another chunk of our cash flying to yet another Australian city, to be faced with the same ...

... across the road. He stopped and looked at us inquisitively. We drove round the 4km one-way loop in the Pinnacles Desert. It was eerie in places - "graveyard" pinnacles were huddled on the the high dunes; clusters on the low ground resembled stumpy, rotten teeth, larger formations were like chess pieces, angels and slabs of honeycomb. We had timed our visit perfectly. The sun was setting and ...

... Lynne's on Sunday. We got back to Dave and Barb's at about 5.00 and Kate and her boyfriend Josh were there. Kate is still working at the same small café and patisserie at which Laura worked, until this week when she was made redundant. We are occupying Kate's bedroom while we are here, and Kate was due to share Laura's room but seems to have decided that she would rather stay with Josh this week as we have only seen her very briefly so far. I had a beer with Frank and ...
