... 8211; who would be in Lake Havasu for the weekend and we decided to try to meet them there. That made a long haul over just a couple of days… maybe we could get to Joshua Tree for a one or two nighter and then get to Lake Havasu on Friday if we hauled our asses in high gear.

I love Joshua Tree and its lunar-esq landscape, the odd Dr. Suess like trees are hauntingly beautiful. But it was not to be, at least this time. It was simply too far to go ...

... by solar energy stored in batteries and run thru inverters. There are tall structures on the land called cooling towers that operate without fans – when you wet the pads on top, cool air falls and you get cool airflow. Seemed like something we had to see.

Well, our two weeks in Lake Havasu have flown by. Tomorrow (Monday), we are off to Eva &
Doug’s place in Yuma for a week. Am excited to see my big sister. ;)

... could see. The ride on the old Route 66 was pretty desolate. The mountains were beautiful and the desert is quite pretty even at this time of year. The variations of the green colors on the desert floor are really beautiful.

... on the jet skis it wasn't raining any more and the temperature was in the high 20s (we all got a bit sunburnt).
