... This city and island deserve more time for exploration. There are some lovely parks in Las Palmas, and a drive around the island would show the diversity of landscapes, from sand dunes to lush forest.

I had to get up at 4:00 a.m. to make it to my flight to Greece. Early morning taxi rates – buses don’t run that early – cost me a staggering 40 euros (CA$61) to get to the airport.

... after dinner at our hotel was a weird carrot goo with fried brie and white chocolate sauce. It was unappetizing and frankly I wanted to ask the chefs what the heck they were thinking. Everything they served us was just weird. Some things just don't go together.

... time we walked by! After this we left the Island of Tenerife to go to Gran Canaria aboard the most up and down ferry I have ever been on. I felt bad for all the people who must have been quite hungover from the previous days festivities because I felt like I was going to die and hadn't been drinking!
