Day 87 - Jungle tour

A travel blog entry by jayandbob

This is a top pick!

We awoke to drizzling rain this morning, the tour we booked today was for all weather so we were going to get wet either way. After breakfast we were ready in the lobby by 9.45am and were picked up and taken to an area in the jungle just out of Cancun. It took about an hour to get there and we were with 6 other people, 1 Russian couple, 2 Japanese girls, and a Mexican mother and daughter. The rain was on and off but never heavy only drizzling. There's ...

Anyway - Playa del Carmen is delightful. There are more tourists here and you can see why. The main road, 5th avenue, closed off to traffic runs for about 12 blocks, restaurants, bars, trinket shops line both sides. The beach is just divine, bar the thousands of tourists baking on their sun lounges. ...

... We hired a golf buggy (the best way to get round the island), bought a 6 pack and drove round. I loved it, Omar has been here many times and so knows this place like the back of his hand. He also bought me a beautiful shell ring so I would never forget him! Like I would ever forget his hospitality! We also visited the local Cenotes, and tried all sorts of wonderful food. He would drive us to some random food cart and tell me that he ...
