... nägime surnud kaktustest valmistatud lampe, voodipäiseid, kappe, baarilette, kandikuid, karpe, pliiatsitopse, võtmehoidjaid ja igasuguseid dekoratsioone. Tundub, et surnud kaktus on siin tõeline müügihitt!
Ühel päeval nägime aga kõrbele omast tõelist liivatormi, kus liiv keerutas nii laialt ja kõrgelt, et me ei näinud isegi mägesid. Tegelikult see võis olla ka sellest, meil olid nii silmad-kõrvad kui ka suu liiva täis.

Causing a Cafuffle
... asking everyone if they rented them, without luck. Don't know if it had anything to do with it being a wine distillery region, but there's a serious gap in the market for scooters in that place, and it ****** me off!
Had to settle for a normal bike (which turned out had a dodgy back break so I just took that off, and could only go in its highest gear if you didn't want the chain to jar every 2 seconds (massive ******* for the uphill sections). Didn't fancy the 96km ...
Cafayate wine and relax
... bathroom with a curtain around it. This is pretty great, because we can actually step out of a shower and on to a dry floor. Luxury. Tastings after a pretty nondescript lunch: Transito, a free tasting with delicious Cabernet...Nanni, a gorgeous little spot across from Transito with organic wines, and pequeña bodega Salvador Figueroa ...the smallest of the day, with just a little room for tasting and a very limited production. Their malbec was fantastic. ...
Drinking and driving
... Mountains which never seemed to get any closer no matter how far across the flats we drove. Again the landscape was changing, it was drier, dustier and the plants around us looked more like those found in the semi-arid middle parts of Australia. Soon enough darkness had totally enveloped us and we could no longer enjoy what looked to be very picturesque surroundings. We were approaching Cafayate, famous like Mendoza for its wines, all around us we could just about pick ...
Salta - The nightmare begins...
... went for a nice dinner in the 'happening' district which looked very nice. We were there relatively early for dinner (8pm; locals eat around 10pm) and found a nice little place that had already started to serve meals for the evening. Dave had a slab of Llama meat which is basically like an exotic lamb in taste. Adel had a meat dish which we couldn't quite figure out what it actually was....?! We headed home promptly after this for Dave ...
