... the canal freezes over for 3 months of the year and all trade has to stop. People lined the shore to take it al in.

The kids got to play in the adjoining park, skip some pebbles on the surface of the lake with popcorn and shaved ice in hand before going to the local arcade for a few hours of unlimited laser tag, mini golf and baseball hitting range.
