On Friday morning, we pick Terry up from the airport at Poznan and head into the
city. It's a beautiful day and we can’t wait to get in the sun. We find a 24
hour car park in the city and park up before wandering into the square. We
circle the square and admire the architecture before choosing somewhere for

... hard information to appreciate it. So I did the unthinkable and signed up for a 6 hour walking tour. I was left with my toes frozen from the cold and my head reeling with information which I needed to process, but it was a very good choice. This is not a city to get your head around in a couple of days but I feel like I now have at least a vague idea of some of the complicated jigsaw pieces that make up Berlin.

... comfortable. There is a Lidl down the street so we got lots of groceries. Because we have a kitchen were going to try and cook most of our meals rather then eat out. Czech Republic is part of the European Union but hasn't converted to the euro, they use the czech crown. 1 Canadian dollar is worth 20 czech crowns. ... ended up giving their East German currency away to folks on the street. All that remains at Checkpoint Charlie is the little guard hut and the sign "You are now leaving the American zone." All if it is a replica though, the original checkpoint building and sign are in a museum. But they do have two "American" guards standing outside the hut....they're not at attention though.
