... French embassy. Keeping an eye on those pesky Froggies. Next we made our way to the Jewish memorial. This is basically a city block filled with rectangular concrete blocks of varying heights. There are no names or descriptions, no words anywhere in fact. When asked what it all means, the architect simply replied, I'm an architect, I design things, it is up to the people who see it to define what it means to them. It cost €27 million to build, you think he ...

The wine waiter made fun of me as I ordered a sweet ...

We saw Checkpoint Charlie, and saw a section of the Berlin Wall that remains standing. We went ...

So last night Karliana and I did an Anti-Pub Crawl which is apparently designed for people who don't want to get obnoxiously loud and rowdy in the streets. How hipster. Of course, I didn't know that until we had gotten there but I concur. We walked to the meeting point with two of the Toronto gals that we had met earlier in the day and ended up getting lost. The funny part was that we bumped into a huge group of people who had gotten lost at the exact ...

... was not too bad and we found our way to the Adina Apartments near the old checkpoint Charlie in what was East Berlin. In fact we spent almost our entire stay in what had been East Berlin or East Germany. I think Adina is an Australian company and when we went down for dinner the menu included a Aussie burger and kangaroo filets and at breakfast they had Vegemite. I had the quintessential Berlin food, the Currywurst and hot chips. It is a thick German ...
