Happy birthday Polly! We woke early to thunder but the sky looked pretty bright. A nice lie in then showers and brek before a wander round site to see the swimming pool, shop, cafe, restaurant, laundry. Then a very short walk into town.... Set off by half 1 to drive up north to Friesland. The journey got greyer and greyer as we got further north. This area is lovely and well worth a visit. The camp site has exceptional facilities; lovely and quiet and the family team that run it can't be more helpful.

One word of caution though; if you plan coming here for any future King's Day Celebration weekend, just be aware a few of the local moronic youth make it an annual event to race around the ...

When we arrived in Dronten, we dropped our stuff off in our rooms. We were staying in a guest dormitory at the college CAH Dronten for the night. We had skyped with the students previously, and were supposed to do a group project with them, but it didn't work out. The dorm didn't have gender separations for the bathrooms, which was new to us.
