Horrible staff. Horrible Ammenities.. Not at all what we were expecting.
They were Very Rude, very unprofessional. I will never stay here again and I would not reccomend it to anyone else either. They have Adopted a cash only policy and they want to be paid for your stay up front before you stay! Beware!
Our room was left dirty and we were treated like we were complaining for no reason. like expecting maid service to come and give you clean towels and make the bed it too much to ask. I would never Recommend this hotel to anyone.
Their Gym, Pool, and Spa were horrible. The gym is 4 treadmills a universal and a bike. the Pool is so small I don't know why they bothered and their spa is a 5 man hottub.. again.. I don't know why they bothered.. they are no where near downtown.. they aren't even essentially in Edmonton..
There are no extras in your room.. no coffee no nothing... they expect you to go use their starbucks downstairs. as well.. if your ice machine is broken on your floor they will tell you and I quote.. so go find the stairs and go up to another floor and get it yourself. and then hang up on you...
I am not impressed by the rude treatment of the staff and the management that we spoke to really didn't care. they treat you like you are the one in the wrong if you are having issues. our stay was a compleate nightmare.. and the staff there needs some serious hospitality training.
Insomma, siamo stati davvero bene in quest'hotel.
This place is amazing! We booked a stay here for two nights on our way back from Cuba! They had a special rate of $119 per night which was excellent! First of al this place is huge...there is a casino as well as an ice rink on site. There is also a restaurant, however we chose to eat while at the mall! The room was very clean, the bedding was all down, and we had a big flad screen LCD TV! We also had a king size bed which was nice after such a long flight from Cuba. The room was a little small, but not cramped. There is also a free shuttle to and from West Ed Mall...beats paying cab fare! The staff at the front desk and in the casino are very nice and helpful! We were very happy with our stay here. If we could get this rate again we would definitely go back!
A Great Place to stay !!!
This Hotel is really a Great place to stay at their Special price of $99 per night . There is a Casino attached with a 3 or 4 different lounges ,2-Arenas, a totally modern gym , a coffee shop , a pool/hot tub and many meeting rooms . The guest rooms have big LCD TV'S and are really deluxe with awesome beds and furniture. The pool should have been made bigger but its very nice and clean . They have a free shuttle (Edm Transit) that takes you to West Edm Mall every half hour although they will only stop at the bus stop before the mall and the one after the Mall. This may be part of a battle between the WEM Mall's Casino and the River Cree Casino (?) , its only a short walk (under 5min) to the mall from the stop but may be an issue for someone older with walking issues or if its -20c ! The regular room rate is around $140 which is at least what I would expect to pay for a place like this .Their Special room rate is probably being offered in an effort to become known I doubt it will be available in the future for long .
Everything about this place is first class in fact that is a
drawback too as their nicest restaurant is very pricey but the lounge food is a cheaper alternative .The Resort is located on the West side of Edmonton off WhiteMud Road where the double lanes change to single lanes, look for the 10story structure on
the southside of WhiteMud Rd. They say its in Enoch, AB which basically must be part of the city of Edmonton as its only a 10 min drive from the west Edm Mall. Bottom line is the Marriott River Cree Resort is a good place to let people know about if they plan to go to Edmonton .
Ps: I can't imagine what a 4 star looks like !
Camere sporche. Gli addetti all'assistenza clienti erano davvero presuntuosi. Mai più.
NON VI CONSIGLIO QUEST'ALBERGO.
Awful place to stay.. not clean.. people we not friendly... management did not help to resolve any of our problems. Dirty rooms. Guest Service people were very stuck up. Never again I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
Good and Bad!
Sister and I stayed at the Rivercree in the middle of November. GOOD: We did get a very good rate of 99.00 so we thought we would go and check it out. The hotel is new and smells and looks new which is terrific! The room was a big small but had alot of nice perks...robes and lots of comfy pillows and luxe bedding! Lots of movies for everybody if you know what I mean! Big casino that allows smoking if that's your thing.
BAD: Food at the buffet and roomservice is AWFUL! And expensive! 25/27 for buffet? Very little choice and sub par!!! We ordered room service: "Deep dish apple pie with vanilla bean sauce - 7.00" we got STORE BOUGHT ORDINARY APPLE PIE WITH NO NOTHING! NO ICECREAM NO ANYTHING ! and not even cut very well??? We did not eat it and complained to management that took over 1.5 to come to our room? We weren't charged.
WHERE TO EAT??? Tap 25 -Burgers, wraps yummy sweat potatoe fries.
SAGE - Didn't try because it would be at least 50.00 per person.
WARNING: There is no coffee maker in the room and no free in morning so be prepared to pay 3.50 at Starbucks.
POOL: Why did they bother to build such a small pool??? Barely big enough to get in and have a splash??? In such a cold climate they should have built a large fun pool instead of a dinky splash pool...which was not even clean? Very visible dirt on bottom and cloudy water?
STAFF: Most of the staff did not know what was going on or seemed to care. The ladies at the players club were snotty and annoyed at our questions.
The Marriott Edmonton at River Cree Resort is a new hotel that just opened in November 2006. The hotel is very nice, very clean, and houses a casino that is part of the hotel.
The rooms are spotless and very clean. The bed is very comfortable. I found the smoke alarm that is centred right in the ceiling quite disturbing. Once you turn off the lights to go to sleep, the smoke alarm light blinks on and off incessantly. I guess you just need to turn over and you will soon drift off to sleep in that comfy bed.
The hotel is located about 5 minutes from West Edmonton Mall. There are quite a few restaurants in the hotel. I found them to be on the expensive side. I would prefer to eat outside of the hotel and then venture back to the hotel. Two things I'm not that happy about is (1) the staff in the hotel seem to be lacking in the knowledge of the area surrounding the hotel and (2) internet is not included in the hotel rate.
Overall, not too bad for a brand new hotel.

... My hands are so cold and wet that I fear if I need to do emergency braking or clutching that my hands won't operate. They have frozen into handlebar shaped hooks of unresponsive meat. It takes about 10 minutes to restore feeling into the fingertips and it is extremely painful as the blood supply returns.
I get underway again and my warming efforts last maybe 30 seconds inside my soaking wet leather gloves. I have to pull over about every 10 kms for ...
... little sleep the night before. We walked to the closest taxi stand to catch one back to the Hotel which took us about an hr with all the traffic, us all nodding off again & again, but only cost about $2O US as he forgot to turn on the meter. We got to our rooms & both Noel & Chris fell asleep within 5 minutes! I took advantage of the great free wi-fi (sure better than Alpine's) & while in bed emailed the kids a few pix & to say we were safe & having great time so ...

Early afternoon we went to the Waterpark, unfortunately Melvyn and Jocelyn couldn’t come in- the price to be an observer was ridiculous!! Conrad and I came in different doors as I had the push chair which caused great confusion but somehow saved us $100 for our tickets…don’t ask me how cause I still don’t know! It was a very cool place to while away an afternoon.
... people to board here for one night, in fact they added three carriages in Edmonton to accommodate them, we should get there about 2 hours behind schedule. By the time we all (tons more people) got back onto the train after they had added more extra carriages, we were close three hours late, I feel that this is not entirely ...

I'm excited (and slightly nervous) for the culture shock, ...
