So, we awoke to blue skies and a possibility of a helicopter flight. By 10.00 (our scheduled flight time) the clouds had moved in, but we were still able to take off. What a stunning flight. We flew over the Franz Josef glacier and then landed at the top of Fox Glacier. The pilot was great with a commentary about the glaciers. He took photos of us …
We left our hotel in Queenstown today at about 10:30am and were happy to be en route to a different location. 10 minutes up the road Steve could not remember seeing his phone so we had to make a return trip to Queenstown........
Our first stop was half an hour away in Arrowtown, a quaint heritage village. This pretty town sprang from the 1860's …
... I think I need to try it for a bit longer before I could say. After our late breakfast that was eaten at about midday, Dais suggested that I finished my painting. I'd painted the background to my masterpiece a week or so ago but needed to add the finishing touches to it. So I did. Lovely first floor suite with views across the lake and mountains. Dinner in the restaurant was lamb (for Karen) and steak for me, accompanied by very nice couple of reds (Merlot for Karen, Pinot Noir for me). Jess, our waitress was great and very chatty.
