Lovely first floor suite with views across the lake and mountains. Dinner in the restaurant was lamb (for Karen) and steak for me, accompanied by very nice couple of reds (Merlot for Karen, Pinot Noir for me). Jess, our waitress was great and very chatty.

So, we awoke to blue skies and a possibility of a helicopter flight. By 10.00 (our scheduled flight time) the clouds had moved in, but we were still able to take off. What a stunning flight. We flew over the Franz Josef glacier and then landed at the top of Fox Glacier. The pilot was great with a commentary about the glaciers. He took photos of us …

We left our hotel in Queenstown today at about 10:30am and were happy to be en route to a different location. 10 minutes up the road Steve could not remember seeing his phone so we had to make a return trip to Queenstown........
Our first stop was half an hour away in Arrowtown, a quaint heritage village. This pretty town sprang from the 1860's …

... finally she said that there are two groups of people here - the travellers who come through and those that are here for the long run. Neither of these groups are interested in new friendships as they are either here for too short a time to be bothered or they already have all their friends and don't need to make anymore. Dais and I are in limbo. It's getting boring again and I wish I'd never left Auckland. The weather was absolutely abysmal today. ...

... than any of my other shoes. I waltzed home and it was starting to spit again but fortunately I made it back in good time. Neville had made me a surprise dinner. Last week I dropped into conversation how I really fancied chicken satay and tonight she made the most amazing chicken satay with steamed rice and a pea and soybean salad. It was incredible and I felt like I was at a Michelin star restaurant. So lucky to have a friend like Nev. Ero Tergum ...

... a little audience who's days I'm sure we would have made. We lasted about the first 100 metres and all the people who we had dinged the bell for to mind out the way passed us. We laughed so much but at the same time it was very frustrating. Once we got the knack of it we soared along the lake like the wind. I was at the front of course and dang the bell to people to get them out the way whilst screaming "excuse me we can't stop....move!" Daisy was having ...
