Bournemouth has a very funny layout.. the two main streets of the town go up both sides of the hills that lead down to the park and eventually to the famous Pier.
I was a bit down in the dumps this day.. I think because I was watching all the families and couples having some fun. It was mid term break so there were heaps of kids around and the entrance to the Pier was packed with amusements and ...
... a lot to see when your on them.
So we decided on a next stop as Lyme Regis on the South Coast to break up our journey back to London. It's a nice place at the start of the Jurassic Coast which we did not have time to explore. Kim impressively went for a morning run even though it was rainy and windy and I stayed tucked up in bed!
... we went into the club. Where they were just finishing off the kids club show. We had a three piece singing group and then two comedians. I think the entertainment startedabout 9 and went through till about 1. In the club they had a kids amusement centre, with pool tables, dance machines and arcade games.. we went through a lot of 2p coins than night!! I was really surprised at the amount of entertainment there. A lot of fun for a big kid like me!!
Poole, England, United Kingdom sares12... I went to the Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford, great few hours including a smashing lunch and back to Yeovil to pick up the ladies at the appointed time of 3.30 pm.
Tuesday dawned rather foggy and overcast, probably our worst day yet. Lona wanted to go to Lyme Regis to find a model dog for Kim. One time we were here before we bought her a Boxer, so this time Lona wanted Schnauzer, to no avail, there were none ...
... and the memories, but also because it will be the end of my Naval Career too. (Albeit I don't hand my ID Card in for another pair of weeks yet) Have made a lot of friends down in London, and I'll miss a few more than others, but all good things must come to an end.
Well I'll sign off now, will post again at some point over the next couple of weeks.

8000 feet. That will be the pinnacle of my career, and that of many others on the trip. Not many people are stupid enough to play rugby any higher than that. We'll get on to that later though. Alan came up on the Friday. I wandered over with Lucas at lunchtime, feeling like a zombie, after a week of nights and working on the bus during the day. He had already fixed the dodgy engine mounting by the time I got there. We chatted, he gave me some ...
Weymouth, United Kingdom spooky388Way back in 1973 my wife and I were living in Hull, East Yorkshire, from where we set off in our tiny Datsun Cherry loaded with camping gear to look at 'The Continent'. We went via Dover ferry to Belgium, Luxembourg, France & Germany to Switzerland. We camped beside Lake Thun, at Gwatt and after a few days respite decided to go over the Grimsel and Furka passes into Italy, then France and return via Netherlands. Unfortunately the Grimsel and Furka, even in mid June were both ...
Yeovil, England, United Kingdom ankorjuglor... grapefruit priced at a Co-op shop in Basel, en
route, scared us into living very frugally whilst in that country! So
we missed out on the wonderful transport opportunities of rail,
cablecars and lake ferries!
Since that visit we have always dreamed that we would one day return, hopefully more able to avail ourselves of the different forms of transport. During those years a chap ...
March 30 I left by midday on foot, walking all the way through Poole and around Poole Bay searching a spot to hitch-hike or at least catching the bus as the day was advancing fast. At least I admired the landscape on the bay and on the park surrounding it, where there is a big mansion located. I managed to reached the neighbouring town and then it was late afternoon, so I needed to ...
