Breakfast was a mix between Italian and Australian. There was espresso coffee (all Marco usually has for breakfast) Italian biscuits, Italian bread and Australian vegemite. Christina had not tried vegemite before so we carefully spread a thin layer on some toasted bread with butter and gave her a try. Well she was not a fan, in fact I think that she thought we were playing a joke on her in claiming that we liked the stuff, then I think she thought we were a bit mad when she realised ...

... carved from exquisite marble, show the great artistry that was lovingly given to this tower by a great craftsman seven centuries ago. They say that the tower started leaning even as the third floor was built, and they kept on building it anyway. I guess if I was designing such a beautiful tower and looking to upstage all that artistry going on in the great military rival of Florence, I would build a perfect gimmick into the design for people to see.
