... another hire car to get from here to Florence. We will leave the car there as we are staying for 4 days. Sanremo is an idyllic seaside town and for the moment busy but not frantic. We had lunch by the marina and then borrowed the Hotels bikes and rode along the foreshore. Most relaxing. Tonight we dine at Il Pirata which should be ...

Along the coast in Italy is a cute little town, Ventimiglia. They host a street market every Friday that has over 500 stalls that sit along the city streets and along the lungomare, coast. We took the train that stops about a half mile from our home there and then back that night. It was about an hour train ride, we sat on the top level of the train and enjoyed the countryside sights along the way. Taking the train cost us 36.50 Euro round trip for both tickets.

Had a lovely lunch on the harbor. Bruce had an incredible pasta dish with a light baked
    bread top.

    Goodbyes

A travel blog entry by amyandlily on Oct 08, 2014

... bay, yesterday was time to say my goodbyes to my travel companion and send her back to cold and rainy blighty, before I continued the drive along the riviera. The views were amazing and I can't believe how many different shades of blue and turquoise the sea can be along one stretch of coast! I'm now working up to saying ciao ciao to this amazing country I've so unexpectedly fallen in love with and head out to the French Riviera and Monaco. Wish you were here ...
