Eden Lago Puerto Alcudia

We woke up this morning to find ourselves just coming into Palma de Mallorca. Mallorca is the largest of the four Ballearic Islands – part of Spain and Palma is the capital. Very pretty little city and extremely well organized cruise ship dock – with ramps like at an Airport that you use to get yourselves into a covered walkway that takes you to the exit where you can pick up taxis or a bus into the town &#8211 ...

... much more time shopping then I would have so I kept darting off to explore some of the side streets while they were debating with themselves on what to spend their money on. <br><br>Later in the afternoon, I met up with Stee and we went to visit the Castillo de Belver, an unusual round fortress on the hilltop overlooking the harbor. <br><br>We didn&#8217;t have the change to visit another dance club on Thursday night since we departed Palma around midnight.

We arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.

We left Ciutadella around 8 AM to cross back over to Mallorco and into the Bahai de Pollença. It is a deep cut and large protected bay on the northwest corner of the island. ... cave tour we took the heli to the yacht which was approaching Minorca island when we landed aboard. It was close to 6 PM, so we washed up and had dinner on the sun deck at 7 PM while we watched the sunset and as we entered long entrance to the Mahón harbor, the second deepest natural harbor in the world.

I take a bus to the other side of Palma where there are some small, pretty beaches. Finding them is a little tricky but they are pretty, for city beaches and have a much more Spanish orientation. Some really nice beaches are supposed to be available but I lack the time to work them in (it is large island with slow transit). <br><br>My roommate and I go out for the night in Palm central. ... afternoon at the beach back in Playa de Palma. It is so nice to have warm weather with sun. Quite a contrast from Scandinavia. This is an area full of German tourists. Mostly Spring break atmosphere. Apparently it is dominated by package deals. I have seen very few other nationalities here. As an indication, at the airport, Air Berlin dominated the airlines (even though this is Spain it is not Iberia or SpanAir).

In order to make the weight limit, I take all the really dense stuff like books, electronics &#8230; and put them into my day bag which I sling over 1 shoulder to make it look light (there is a weight limit on carry on too which I am way, way over). I also have a shopping bag packed full of stuff. I am right at the weight limit but make it. <br><br>At the airport I see my first Starbucks which has $6 for a large brewed coffee.
