Tonight we are dining in the Chops Grille for my birthday. They claim the best steak on the high seas. We have much more motion on this crossing than we did last year in the Pacific. They have drained and closed the pools until we get to some calmer waters. They have also made some subtle changes in the entertainment because of the increased motion.

We celebrated our last night with Ian and Cassandra with a typical Italian meal of salad and pasta. The 'funghi' season is in full flow in Genoa and the fresh mushrooms we eat in the pasta had a marvellously intense flavour - must try to get better ones when I'm home! We also drank a very nice red called Luna Rossa, which given the 'super blood moon' we thought very appropriate.

... with our developing plan we get on the bikes and head to Cueno, our first Italian city. We have a few chores to catch up on and items to pick up, we busted the bike tire pump a few days ago, lost the pot, ran out of bug spray, and needed another bike lock.
