      We took advantage of a break in a thunder shower to explore ruins of the Priamar fortress which is built on a hill near the harbor. In 1528 Savona was conquered by Genoa; the city was ransacked and the beautiful cathedral on the site was demolished. In its place the Genoese built an immense fortress.       ... shop and grabbed some drinks and snacks and went back to the hotel to make use of the free wifi.


      For dinner I went to a nearby Ristorante Pizzeria and had some vino and the Stelvio Platter with lost of meat, sausages, bacon, cheese and bread. Finished of with an expresso and a grappa, large!


      I could have done with a rest day, but still apart from the little bit of rain it had been another good day on the road.

      ... a view). Some great photos from here! Down we came and made it to the ferry to take us back to Santa Margarita. A little more shopping, and the heavens opened up!. The rain came to spoil our tour. We took cover at a bar were an Aperol Pritz relieved our pain!. By this time it is around 4pm and we are thinking of getting back.       ... due to landslides. Because you can no longer walk this path, people have starting putting padlocks along the fence as a sign of love between them. It has become quite a world wide occurrence I believe!! I just don’t really like it any where near as much as the other villages of the Cinque Terre, but each to there own, hey?
