Fast sail all the way over to Otranto and even had the fun of Dolphins playing at the helm. Busy shipping lanes overnight kept us all on our toes and Eric plenty of time to practise his lights. Winds were so favourable we headed on South to M.Saint Di Leuca still arriving by 3pm in time for a cocktail on shore before getting Ellis already for next early departure ...

... baroque architecture with our guide Daniella. After the tour, we stopped at Caffe Tito Sciapa, named for a singer who was buds with Al Capone, for our now customary pre-dinner wine and card games. After a tough battle with Kate, Dad rest abolished himself as the Biggest Loser in hearts ending with a brilliant but failed-by-one-heart attempt to shoot the moon. Due in part to time constraints and in part to the lack of towns worth stopping in, they made it in a tad over 3 hours. According to the travel guide, 98% of the biking is on ...

From Sea to Shining Sea (Adriatic-Ionian, that is)

... those trulli we had been seeing. As with the first two days, we again had gorgeous weather. It has been sunny and about 75 to 80 each day. Just spectacular. It cools off at night, so we need light sweaters by dinner time. Feels just like summer at home! We stopped in Copertino after an hour or so, picked up some fresh strawberries, tomatoes, a boule and some local cheeses and sausage. Back on our bikes to head to Nardo. We ...
