After a slightly stressful train delay we got to St Malo, Brittany. The delay which almost caused us to miss our connection was caused by a crane dropping an object on to the railway overhead supply cable, therefore causing trains to be diverted to other routes. However we just made our connection to the TGV and made St Malo in time to walk part of the city walls which are similar to those in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Our hotel is called Ajoncs D'Or, which we have learned ...

We made our way from St Malo heading south for Moelan-Sur-Mer.
We'd tanked up in St Malo - £1.05 a litre for Super Unleaded - not bad!!
Will was seeking a caffeine fix. After 20 miles of grind on the boring N176 I decided to cut across country. We came across this lovely little village - Jugon-Les-Lacs. 2 big café au laits to stir the cryo tanks and then back on it.

To get to Moelan, there are only ...

Woke up at 6am to 'Two & half men' repeating opening titles "Men,men, men, men, menly men men men, ooohhh", laptop had been left on.
          Went back to bed.
Next thing.....'Bing bong, ladies & gentlemen the boat will be docking in 15 minutes, please make your way to your vehicles'. But it's only 7am. The ticket says 8.15am.
Thanks Brittany Ferries, they don't say you board in English time but get off in French time who are an hour in front.

DAY SIX - THURSDAY Today, we have finally rested for the night at Le Grouin du Sud, just north of Avranches. First we stopped at Carolles Plage, where we got fresh water. We didn't really fancy staying there and paying 8€ for the privilege! We did fork out 3€ for 10 mins of water. It never takes 10 minutes to fill our tank as it's never completely empty. Lunched there and then set off to find a Super U for fuel and gas. Found that and did yet ...

... Coast whose history is as ancient as it is flamboyant, was a town of privateers, traders and great men, including Jacques Cartier, discoverer and explorer of Canada, Robert Surcouf, privateer (legal pirate) and Francois-Rene de Chateaubriand, writer and diplomat. St Malo is also known for its tides. The bay of St Malo has the highest tidal range in Europe in spring and autumn, and the coastline can be subjected to huge seas and storms. ...
