... me to consider, so we thanked the rather rude lady, and left the store. Two doors down, there was "Burma" -- the classic "fake" shop. Good, this will be more up my alley. The woman in the shop, was not helpful, or even kind. It felt like we were bothering her. I like a lovely pair of amethyst earrings, and Marina a large pear-shapped citrine ring. As luck would have it -- neither one of us bought anything here either. It was getting late, time ...

... to go there.'  Damn right you would, we have a beautiful country! After the exchanging of names and unfortunately numbers, we got talking and had a great conversation about god really knows what! Their English wasn't the greatest and we knew we were going to have trouble from the start when we couldn't even pronounce their first names correctly. When Sarah and I were about to leave, our new friend tried to order us one last surprising shot which I was slightly ...

Art exhibits are plentiful and change frequently. Currently one artist has photographed the profiles of all the residents and large banners are hung throughout with these fascinating glimpses of everyday people.

We had lunch at one of the outside cafes. Luckily, it had an awning as today was the first rainy day of our trip. But sitting under the awning with all ...

... better, we tucked ourselves into a lounge chair for two and chatted while we sipped. Around 8pm we were cleaned up and dressed "cocktail style" and in line at our Aqua Class only Blu restaurant. Timing was on our side and we were seated at our same table near the windows with the same fun waiter. We watched as out ship pulled out of port and headed east towards Stop #2, Livorno (Pisa/Florence). For dinner tonite we took the ...

Arriving in Nice

A travel blog entry by aaresh

... men WERE the lights!! Is Nice not the best town ever?

We enjoyed our walk back to the hotel, and got all gussied up to head to Monaco/Monte Carlo! I was there 10 years ago, but didn't make it to the casino, and Aaresh was excited to see where the formula 1 race is held once a year, so we put on our finest and got in the car as we drifted down the Moyen Corniche (Middle road...there's also a high and a low corniche offering different views of the sea) on our way to ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Eden Hotel Cannes

Good Value, Professional and Clean. Recommended

    from

Hotel Eden is located on the main shopping street in Cannes and is approx. 10 mins walk to the heart of restaurant land and 5/6 minutes from the sea.

Not bad, but pretensions to "4-star boutique hotel" status are unjustified

    from

Overall we enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Eden hotel and might consider staying here again if the price was right. However, it's worth noting a few pros and cons.

    What a nice surprise....

    from

My husband and I stayed at this lovely hotel in June. We booked through Expedia and we ended up with a really good deal. We are sure we were upgraded when we checked into our room. It was a very generous sized room with a king size bed and balcony with sea view! The only slight negative point is that the bathroom was a little on the small side but very clean and fresh looking. The staff were particularly friendly and the location is fantastic. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Good Hotel Great Value for cannes

    from

Very friendly staff. Good size clean rooms with wooden floors . Breakfast was also good. I paid €120 for the room and I was satisfied with what I got.

Location is excellent only a 3 min walk to the sea and directly on the main sterrt in Cannes (but in the quiter part so not much street noise)1 negative point is the construction of the hotel with wooden floors means that it can get a little noisy at night when people are coming in. Apart from that it is a good hotel. For a few quid more you could try Hotel Crusstini Beach (not too sure on the spelling)

    Great Hotel

    from

My husband and I stayed at the Eden in September 2004 and we loved it. It is very contemporary with clean, spacious rooms. It is an easy walk to shopping and the beach. We also got a great rate at Lowestfare. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    Friendly and helpful Staff

    from

I stayed four nights at the Hotel Eden. I had a wonderful room with a large window and a view of the sea down the street opposite. The room was clean and furnished in a contemporary style. The breakfast room was modern and had a wide variety of food available. The fresh fruit salad and a wonderful array of jams were the highlights for me.

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is well situated on the Rue Antibes.

My only concern was that the wooden floors amplified sound and at one point I could hear a baby cry two floors away ! I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cannes.

    So conveniently located..

    from

A stylish, modern hotel - very clean with attentive staff. The room was spacious and the satellite TV included Sky News that kept us up to date with developments back home. A direct road takes you to the seafront and, by walking a few metres either way, you can find a free beach rather than pay the steep prices for a sun-lounger at a private area. Highly recommended - although a word of warning is that if you use the tea and coffee facilities this gets charged as mini-bar expense!

    Stylish, Modern and Good Value

    from

The Hotel Eden is an excellent recently renovated hotel with a modern, contemporary feel and all at a very reasonable price. On checking out I was expecting to pay some more as I was sure I had been undercharged for the quality of the room. Private underground parking is excellent, and from my experience quite rare in French city hotels. It is situated centrally enough to be convenient to all the main areas yet is outside of the hustle and noise of the main drag. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

    Charming contemporary hotel well located

    from

The Eden Hotel in Cannes is an excellent, newly renovated contemporary design hotel well located in Cannes just 150 mts from the beach and La Croisette. It is a great alternative to the high priced major deluxe hotels in Cannes, we only paid 120 EUR for a lovely room with great comfort and style. We highly recommend this hotel for those who wish to visit Cannes , and the Cote D'Azur without spending a fortune.
