Like all Council work teams,.. they assessed the problem,.. broke out the pick and shovel,.. erected a triangular sign 'Slow Down - Roadworks Ahead',.. pulled the grate on the drain off,.. Then the rain got heavier, so they packed up and left!!! You have got to love 'em!! That night was pretty wild. The storms ...

... were running low. Then about 4km from the top the temperature plummeted and the rain continued in ernest. We were shivering so much our bikes were shaking! Thankfully once over the top there was a little cafe where we hid for a while drinking hot chocolate and eating ham and cheese omelettes. We made it safely back to the valley where it was glorious sunshine and we laid everything out to dry. Phew. An exhausting ...
