    ... was water to soften the crust (she was tired, and not thinking straight). She dipped it in cheese and ate it, and almost fell out of her chair, much to the amusement of me, the wait staff, and the other diners. Turned out to be VERY strong cherry schnapps, or mountain water, as he called it.

    A great day! Now off to bed, up early tomorrow for more adventures. This is Bill from Switzerland, signing out. :)

    ... impressive to see the way the water carved the rock. It captures the water from the glaciers on the Eiger, the Monch and the Jungfrach mountains. 20 tons of water per minute come through these waterfalls....

    ... was lived in until 1964! Seriously, thatch roof, kitchen that was designed to NOT have ventilation because the smoke cured the wood, and the animals were just below the sleeping quarters! We saw their distillery, the bread baking building and most importantly, the flour mill. We were really impressed!

    Got the train to Thun which is at the far end of Lake Thunnersee. The trip was lovely as the train lines goes along the edge of the lake for part of the way. Thun is a pretty old town with a lovely old town hall and square with cobbled streets. We walked over the beautiful old wooden bridge to the little island in the. Idle where there was a small market.
