Today was one of those days that make you appreciate the ease of travel around Europe compared to the distances we travel in Australia.
This morning our day started with breakfast in Germany followed by lunch in the Netherlands, afternoon tea in France and dinner in Belgium! The time it takes us to drive from Proserpine to Rockhampton we drove through 4 different countries!
... been played under the Menin Gate Memorial in Ieper (Ypres). Our ceremony was the 29618th time the ceremony had been conducted!

... br> We had not pre-booked a ferry, so that evening we went online and found suitable crossing from Calais to Dover, sailing at 12.30 pm. We allowed 90 mins to get to the Port and an hour to check in before sailing time. Anyway we were packed and ready to leave by 9am as usual. We arrived at the port a little earlier than expected and as only 30mins was required for check in we managed to get on an earlier sailing and were back in the UK by 12pm local time.
... boat so John could have a power nap as he did not sleep very well last night. He is complaining about all the mosquito bites he has got and of course they are much worse than the ones Isi has, like man flu! We have to agree he does have the most bites, but Isi has the largest ones. He is not used to getting bitten, and don’t we know it!
When we arrived back, the temperature down below was 39°C 101°F as all windows and hatches had been closed, ...
The weather was cloudy and mild. Unusual for Belgium in the winter.
I went to one of the local bicycle shops in Kortrijk, Mobile and was able to rent a nice touring bike.
As the weather was clear I took the bike for a short ride to Wervik, only `20 km from Kortrijk.
