Stopped off in Santa Cruz, not much going on in Fall! Apparently it's wooden rollercoaster is a national monument! Got to Monterey and found a visitor centre for a map. Hotel man upgraded us to a deluxe king, had a microwave and a fridge! Watched lots of TV ...

An early morning start to see the stunning Emerald Bay before leaving Lake Tahoe. After another beautiful drive, lunch in Napa Valley (wine country), a visit to Muir woods (unreal) and a drive over the Golden Gate Bridge we arrived in lovely San Francisco. We walked the steep streets, including Lombard Street, visited Coit Tower and Fisherman´s Wharf and of course took a boat ride over to Alcatraz.
