        I finally did it!!! Took the Brewery tour.

        We left Arata early due to warnings about construction delays on route 299. We had to be in Chico before 4 for the brewery tour at Sierra Nevada.

        The route we took (299) was a great road for the bike, but the construction delays were a bit of a downer. I liked several of the small towns we rode through, especially Weaverville.

        We made it to Chico by 1:30 and checked into the hotel to get ready for the tour.

        ... awesome burritos. Emily mentions that she plays in a social mixed softball team and I mention I played in school and would love to come and watch. She said they were down players so if they could find a glove for both Aaron and I we could play, this immediately excited the both of us to get involved in some fun.

        We explored farther afield; driving down to Chico about forty miles from Red Bluff. Chico has a large 2400 acre park called Bidwell Park which was donated to the city by the Bidwell family. John Bidwell made his fortune in gold about 1848 and became a prominent leader and politician. The Bidwell Mansion also became part of the State Park in the 1920’s.         ... 500 gallons a day of water! Also, the rapid decrease in temperature. It went from 80 degrees in southern Oregon down to 60 in about an hour as we headed into California and the Redwoods.

        ... We are soaking up the good weather while we can!! There is a 18 hole golf course which is part of the casino so we decided to hit some balls from the driving range. It has got us keen to take up golf again!!!! I was given a Ping cx15 driver and it was so sweet. Gary used a Ping to and he hit with it quite well also. We are heading over to the casino to see if we can win heaps of money so we can buy the Mustang!!!! Dreaming ...
