Our home rental was soooo comfy and well situated that once in, Gerry and I instantly changed and headed out to make some discoveries of the town...where we bought items for supper...ate in and it was yummy....settled in for an evening chat!     ... Deli in Carmel then drive up the road to Monterey to eat it. Taya has been a cranky pants for the last few days and Emma discovers why on the journey. She has her first front tooth (left), and this one is anything but small. Poor little thing. Tooth number 4 already, they are coming thick and fast.

    Emma is not feeling top notch so stays behind for a nap whilst Rich takes the sleeping little ones for an explore in Monterey. Good sleeps had by all ...

    ... Grand Canyon and hit up a random festival, while Jonas wanted to go rafting and hike out to a hot spring. Someone had tipped us off about a hot spring in Big Sur, so we seized the opportunity to check something off our list.

    However, the hot spring was 10 miles into the woods and it was already getting late in the afternoon. We arrived in Big Sur to make a game plant and start the preparations for our very first proper backcountry hiking trip....

    ... comfortable which is handy on long journeys. Today we went to apple HQ and all bought t shirts and jackets for ourselves and for friends! For dinner tonight we went to a lovely little bistro The food was absolutely deliscious and the dessert were amazing !! Tomorrow we are going to Monterey Bay Aquarium which is supposedly the best aquarium in the US !! Im feeling tired now so I will sign off here! ...

    ... very sociable dog. While there I was able to pick apples and oranges right from the tree and not from the grocery shelves. A mundane task I have always dreamt of doing as a kid. Just imagine my excitement when we were given a basket to do the harvesting. Although it wasn't really an orchard but it was enough to satisfy that dream.
