Economy Inn Lodi

Der letzte National Park auf unserer US Tournee ist der Yosemite. Hier gibt es Fluesse, Seen, Berge und Tausende von Baeumen...ein wahrer Wanderer-Traum! Leider hatten wir kaum Zeit zu wandern, muessen dies aber irgendwann noch nachholen :-)<br><br>An unseren letzten zwei Tagen in den USA werden wir nochmals die ganze Fast Food Palette durchlaufen und uns im Wal-Mart Superstore am Groessenwahnsinn ergoetzen :-)<br>

We found a small car rental company "Super Cheap Cars" that do no charge for under 25 drivers such as myself. We had a very nice time in Lodi visiting with Dale's parents, sisters and their families. Sunday, we attended church at Temple Baptist. Since this was before Christmas, the message was about the birth of Christ. After church, we headed home to a delicious lunch prepared by Dale's mom, Doris. He is an old salt, but as I have gotten to know him he has gotten adjusted to my million questions a day. We now do breakfast at 5 AM daily and his help and knowledge are invaluable. At first glance, the old timers thought the recaulking was going to be a patch job bt after closer inspection, I do not know. ... well account for the conditions, as it does not appear as if water flows very well through this tributary. The dock area does however, contain a lot of growth such as algae and a water plant that looks like the type of plant that most people have in their aquarium. I also see fish rise to the top occasionally to grab the odd fly on top of the water or something of that nature. This proves to me that fish do indeed live here. ... other days we just walked around, watched free shows and swam in the hotels pool. We are going on a free bike-ride around the city tomorrow which is arranged through the Hostel we are staying in. On Sunday we plan tp go the Alcatraz (the jail on the Island) Alcatraz means Pelican in Spanish which is funny for for an old maximum security prison. We are now going to watch a cool band play on Pier 23 which is looking over the ocean. Should be good.

so, with my trip finished, i leave you with my collection of garbage cans that i took throughout the trip and my final thoughts on traveling in china. i started photos of garbage cans, because never have i seen so much thought and creativity put into a trash can. there's really some variety there! and for a number of places, they really tried to design them to match the surroundings, quite remarkable. the things i enjoyed most about the trip: --the food, everywhere--in nice ...
