... 34 minutes to the real place. Well worth it is our opinion. When you drive up Route 66 to Pops, it looks as though a space ship landed with a giant, and I mean giant, sculpture of a pop bottle with a straw. As you walk up to the restaurant/gas station/convenience store, you see thousands of pop bottles of every color and flavor you can imagine (and you can't imagine up some you will find in there). ... been featured on Food Network (one of my fave TV channels) so that made it even more special. It was a quinessential old style diner and, as we have noticed every where in the South, the people were so friendly and enjoyed chatting with us. I don’t see rest stops like this out west. They really do them right here. Harley had a good time and is always happy when a stop included a meal.

Further up the road we were passed by a motor home that was hauling a Jeep behind it. Behind the Jeep was a trailer ...

... the houses we made a quick stop at the cemetery to see the burial site, and the moved on down the road. This evening we attended the Tuttle Rodeo. This was a small town event, but it was a good time. They held many events including team roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. The crowd was fun to watch as well - with most people dressed in cowboy boots/hats including the kids. Tomorrow we are on to New Mexico!
