... After our tour of the site we went to a local taverna and hate a yummy lunch of local specialties, really tasty food -tzaski and a beet root dip. 2 salads a hot dish of lamb on rice, all washed down with red wine and ouzo! This was all included in out trip price including a traditional Greek folk dance demo then everyone join in including the throwing of plates! Lots of fun! Back to the ship for a wee siesta. This has been our first sunny day! So nice to feel the sun again ...

... tasting, which we got to do accompanied with a spread of bread, cheeses, salami, and farm fresh olives. We were happy to buy wine and olive oil to bring back for my parents who are taking care of our kids while we are away (thank you, Mom and Dad!!!).

Afterward, our weary but satiated crew headed back to our ship. As we left, we bid a sad farewell to our new friends Maria and Dmitri, with promises of a return trip to Greece.

... idea was shared by many other tourists which congregated at the top, all equipped with cameras and camcorders. There professional photographers, couples wanting to express their affection students' groups and lone travelers, like me. Spectacular views were guaranteed.

2 hours later I was on my way to the couch station filled with total satisfaction but also a portion of regret, wishing to stay in the city longer. Maybe next time.

We farewelled Turkey and hopped on our boat which left Kusadasi and sailed to Patmos. Patmos is a fairly tiny island. We didn't have very long there so I had an ice cream and found somewhere with wifi to pick up my emails, then headed to the beach, or should I say pebbles.
