    Frederick and I were able to walk to the old school and then the cemetery. I took some pictures while we walked. We would have walked further if it were not for the tons of mosquitos biting at us.

    There are tons of beautiful trees on the Island plus a lot of land that has water on it. This is due to the large amount of rain that we have gotten this year (the land has not had a chance to drain all of the water).

    ... more closely. The first part of the day we were virtually the only ones on the road which was very nice as we never felt pushed at all. As we drove higher on the side of Whiteface, the vegetation changed dramatically. We went from VERY tall trees, huge boulders covered with inches of mosses to an Alpine environment the closer to the summit we came.
