Wow - what a neat day of sightseeing!

... holder. Everything was 50% off (winter season). I made it in time for the next tour, which I did not know was to be conducted on a trolley; actually a long metal wagon pulled by a jeep thing. I called "shotgun" since I was the only person solo on the tour and got to ride up in the jeep with our wonderful, nice, and knowledgeable tour guide, Pam.

What an amazing cavern! It was well-worth the price ...

Another beautiful pool, put to good use!

This resort is another one with a beautiful pool (and another one available to us through Resort Parks International).
We went into Hermann, toured the Stone Hill Winery, the Hermann Wurst Shoppe, stopped in a Brewery (for Greg, of course), and then had a bite of BBQ. A good day, despite the oppressive heat (which seems to be the theme of this summer's travels!)

... This route winds it's way through charming suburbs and it was apparent that the landscape of Missouri is different to the flat farmland of Illinois with lots of hills and plenty of trees.
