... well it was once. We visited the fort and then moved along the coast to look at the lighthouse. Today we move to the final Stop, in Macon, Georgia.

Had a lovely evening last night at Staffs restaurant in Fort Walton Beach, fresh fish and couple of beers and some wine. Might be doubling up on this, sorry must be tired!!

Anyway we left Fort Walton this morning in cooler weather, about 75, and had a quick look at beautiful Destin Beach but just then it started raining, jackets on for about 15 minutes and then it stopped.

Done about 240 miles before really heavy rain and wind nearly pushed us off the road. Then ...

So the car is running fine. I wouldn't know. I had to stop driving because I was in shock from the accident. haha. Hmm.. But we're almost to the Florida border. We're in Valdosta, GA. Which is the last place to get cheap gas before you head into Florida. We stopped and ate some dinner at Pizza Hut and then got back on the road. We're trying to make it to the condo around midnight. We're just gonna probably sleep in and go to the beach tomorrow. Ya know...Take it easy.

... announced that it was a NO GO due to lightening within 10 miles. On the Wed. they announced there was a 40% chance it would not go ahead, then it went down to 10% everyone cheered & clapped! We heard them run through all the directors e.g. weather, communications, engineers. There was a count down from T -9 mins and holding then T -6 mins and then T -3 mins. ... tire that would work was an inch bigger than the other 3 on the car. Since my car is front wheel drive they switched out a back tire, put the larger tire in the back, and the correct sized on in the front. I know this probably isn't the best plan but we certainly didn't have many options. A donut would not get us down to Miami on roads with 80mph speed limits. Well Folks we finally made it to a Bar-B-Que place. We had to wait till we finished to see if you we could give it a stamp of approval. As you can see by the picture we loved it!!! This stop officially starts the healthy kick....booo. Nothing like some delicious BBQ!!!
