    ... the roads were poorly marked and mostly dirt which was not really anticipated. We spent a couple of hours looking for Elk and had a really nice picnic along the way but finally gave up because of fear of getting lost or onto a muddy dirt road that was too long to navigate back to the real roads.

    Today was one of the most amazing days so far! We started off with a yummy, home cooked breakfast. The shuttle picked us up and delivered us to the Star Line Ferry for our trip over to Mackinack Island. Since the late 1800's vehicles have been banned on this island. You either travel by horse, bike, or foot. They do allow airplanes to land and golf carts on the golf course. It was one of the most beautiful, unique, easy trails we have ridden. It is 8 ...

    ... one we had was delicious! The building was very small so we ate at the bar along with lots of other people.

    There are lilac bushes all around the island. We saw one that was very big and tall like a tree. The tour guide told us it wasn't a tree but a lilac bush that is 120 years old! You'll see the picture included. I may even try to paint it with my new found hobby of water color painting!
