    ... hours later I arrived in Boyne City and I asked a man for directions to the Boyne City Motel. As he was directing me, he asked if I was traveling with a woman with a blue SUV. He had walked past the motel earlier and had seen Maura unloading the CRV and hanging wet clothes from the roof rack. Small town serendipity.

    ... t know if it might be a coyote or wolf. Later in the day, Nick sent me a message . . . that his neighbors confirmed that it was a grey wolf!!

    We did see lots of chipmunks, squirrels . . . and a deer that makes regular visits (they call her Alice!).

    As we approached The Mighty Mac, we couldn't get a pictured at some of the pullouts because of the fog. It didn't clear to get a good view until just we entered the approach!

    ... of the Trent-Severn were the two lift locks in Peterborough and Kirkfield, Ontario and the Big Chute, a railway system that lifts boats out of the water, drives the boats across a big rock on a railway and gently sets the boat back down in the water some 60 feet down a hill on the other side.     ... the world. People came from Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere this year just to "sail the Mac." I’d also be willing to bet they would agree with a saying that a late, long-time family friend, one who sailed in many “Macs” seemed to live by. In fact, it was printed on cards he had made to let people know he was ready to sail:
