... It looked like one of the semis burned to the ground and the cargo from one of them was spread all over the highway. A car was on its side in the median. One of the truck drivers died in the accident. Fortunately for us, it was in the Eastbound lane. Traffic was backed up for at least 5 miles. We hate to see those kinds of things and luckily we don’t see it very often.

... which always makes my day.

Not many photos today as we forgot to take them this morning and with Jane riding I only have a couple of the fields......Promise to do better tomorrow, but there really isn't much to see.....just open plains and wheat and corn fields.......I have now registered 1821 miles......have about 2000 more to go give or take a little.

Thanks to Gail, Ty, Mindy, and Martha for your donations today......That puts us at $7513.16.

... many built of light-colored limestone common in eastern
Kansas. I have some acquaintances who went to college here; I can see how they
would have some very fond memories. There are a couple museums on campus
including one of natural history and the Sumner Art Museum. I thought the
Sumner is one of the better college art museums I’ve seen in my travels. There
are many that are mostly gallery space for changing exhibitions ...

... because I knew they had some Kansas family history to share with my. It turns out I'll be visiting a cemetery tomorrow Chapman. I talked with then about 15 minutes and enjoyed the gorgeous day and the neighborhood. I made a big loop and made it back to the main street and then farther over, to my car at 6:00. I ate another apple and then I decided to move the car closer to Free State, for later. I parked at Borders so I could get online for a bit. I wrote ...
