Our next stop was Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin which is the county seat of Door County. Door County is roughly 300 miles of coastline stretching along the eastern Lake Michigan side and the western Green Bay side of the peninsula islands with quaint New England type towns and communities. ... in, but we caught a bunch of fish, and I got one! Our pro Eric is really great - super nice and really animated.
The guide I rode with today is Fritz. He's pretty great and so is his boat - he's lived in the area for a long while, knows this water very well, and his cell phone ring "What is Love" by Haddaway, so that is awesome.
We also saw a bald eagle - 'Merica.

We were really feeling at home in our little area of Wisconsin, the Baraboo hills. But it was time to take our road trip to Door County. With close to 6 hrs of driving we wouldn't be spending too long anywhere today. ... was always marked by the odd hardwood tree turning a brilliant yellow or orange, usually in isolation among the evergreen trees. What I saw yesterday was an embarrassment of riches, everywhere I turned acres and acres of golds, reds and oranges covered the landscape. I tried a couple of times to get a good photo, but nothing could do it justice. Now when people say 'I miss the fall colors', I will have much more sympathy for them. I would miss them ...
