... amazing gardens, including a lake, tennis court and maze. The gardens were divided into sections, and while looking spectacular, on closer inspection, there was an assortment of lettuces, cabbages, zucchini, pumpkins and tomatoes growing in the whole front section. Coming home with provisions fresh from the farm for the next two days we waited out thethunderstorm which finished a small heatwave of 34 degrees. At eight we were seated in L'Aigle D'Or for what turned out to be a special night of good food and some old wines. A 2008 sancerre and a 1999 medoc after a cremant de Loire had us in the mood to open up just like the ...

Back in March, we developed a friendship with a junior high school in Tours through an Ashley Hall alum (and an alum of the Immersion program.) Julie thought of us! And how fortunate that we had already planned a visit to their town this summer!
