    ... have driven further up the Chesapeake Peninsula along the hurricane evacuation route, the weather has markedly improved - winds have dropped and clouds lifted.

    Tomorrow should be an easier day - hopefully a slow drive through the picturesque lower hills of Vermont. The leaves here are starting to show their first blushes of Autumn colour. A good omen of what is yet to come.

    ... an arts competition and it's really cute. If you turn on Bridge street and go up the hill about 20 more minutes on foot you have Home Depot, Walmart and many stores like that which you usually have to get to by car. We made good use of our stay here fro stocking up a bit. We also had wonderful "pinwheels" at Miguelo's Cafe in town.. .great food!
