Finally made it back to civilization

... and trailer are pretty dirty. We got a tire and had one of our spares put on and then headed down the road. We made it to Grande Prairie by 6:30. We bought some fresh cherries in Fort St John's. Once you reach Fort St. John's, which is just West of Dawson Creek, Alberta, you are in a more populated area and your are no longer in the remote area's. We drove through a lot of farm land and we are out of ...

Long Day

... was more concerned with his food. Once we saw that he wasn't going to charge us or anything, we turned off the bike and hung out and took pics. <br>Later on down the road, we saw several deer throughout the day, but didn't get any pictures as they are too fast and run across the road. I tell you, I could really do without seeing anymore deer on this trip, they are the one ...

Back to Reality...

... the things for granted. Over the few weeks, I started realizing that life did not have to be so fricken complex. In Canada, a garden is purely a hobby or a way for a person to relax. I soon realized, in Ukraine, that if they did not take care of their garden, there would not have anything to eat. Most of the vegetables and fruits are canned and kept for the winter season. I will keep this second one short, but nice clean water is something I took for granted. Every morning ...

Day 4- Edmonton, AB to Grand Prairie, AB, Canada

... day has seemed to be a day with some kind of little cloud following us. Mom fell in the woods hitting her neck (nothing major), scraped her shin, slid down a hill on her back side (all presumably from probably looking at her GPS and not paying attention to where she was going), and got a little banged up on the water-slide at our hotel tonight and well, I wiped out in the parking lot (it was raining, I have my justifications), the shower ...

THE BLUE CANADIAN ROCKIES

... and that&#8217;s the two-week limit, mind you, already critical at just one week. So I decide to go car camping. There seems to be a lot of state parks dotting the roadside from Grande Prairie on down, so I&#8217;ll take my time and groove on the scenery, exploring the little towns. The parks tend to run about $20 a night, so that&#8217;ll save significantly on hotel bills. Of course I feel a little ...

... for self and others, optimism, thinking before reacting and other non-violent solutions. We met her co-chair, Krista, helped setup then waited for the kids to arrive. Twenty of them showed up with two supervisors in tow around 9am. We had packed the morning with brain storming, the kids were great. I can see myself working with them more and more-- I just don't know in what capacity yet ...

Walking, shopping, and more unintended walking

... any tissue, "I have to blow-up my nose." I laughed so hard, the books felt lighter. It took me awhile to quiet down, being delirious with hunger didnt help, but I had to explain the difference between 'blow' and 'blow-up' before she realized why it was funny that she had a cold. Finally we found a small pizza place open that sold by the slice. I wouldn't have made it otherwise. We got home after walking for another hour. I was exhausted."

Home in Grande Prairie

... this is a blessing in Canada, we are diverse, as long as we can celebrate that. "One of the other toughest differences for me is the food. I guess I got too use to a) mom's cooking b) my own cooking and c) eating out. I know little kids tend to limit the menu, but we have eaten a lot of processed foods. They don't have the same emphasis on fresh green veggies as I do. The choice of fruit is a little better, I am surviving. I am hoping mom will send me some recepies and ...
