T-minus 80 days and counting! That sounds crazy to me considering when we booked the trip to Australia wayyyyy back in May (nine months out) it seemed like forever to wait.

Things are coming along quite nicely. All hotels have been booked and paid for as have our major modes of transportation. That's where the title "taking the long way around" comes into play. We knew we were flying into Sydney ...

Today I woke up to grandpa being gone. He came back in about 15 minutes with danish pastries! I had a cherry-cheesecake danish for breakfast and will have a blueberry one tomorrow. After breakfast, I rode to Point Beach and back. MY BIKE IS GETTING MORE USE THIS WEEK THAN I HAVE RIDDEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I've learned how to use the gears on my bike though... :\

... milestone birthday seemed like as good of time as any to break it out. So the original dream thought was a giant New Year's Eve/Birthday Bash Extravaganza down to Australia. Because thee absolute only place I've ever dreamed of being on New Year's Eve is Sydney Harbor. The dream was made all the better when I found a friend from the gym (Brenda) ready to dive in & do it with me. Woo hoo...commence planning ...
