The gal at the front desk was very pleasant and hospitable. Made us feel welcome from the moment we steped up to the counter. Rooms were clean and had both a fridge and microwave.

It has been called the ‘hub city’ of Eastern Colorado as Interstate 70, U.S. Highways 24, 40 and 287, and State Highways 71 and 86 all pass through the town! ... find a garage and have it checked out. Well we did make it, but after putting some mileage in on the flats of Denver, we realized that the engine was fine. But we will never put the poor little camper through that again!

Continuing east through Denver rush hour traffic, we headed out onto the plains of Eastern Colorado, a landscape very much different from the mountain peaks Colorado is famous for.

A great meal in the evening with Bob, Paul, Nick and Ron with plenty of banter flying about!

A great day out on the bike covering 360 miles in glorious sunshine but not too hot!

A big "transit" day of 510 miles to now get ready for tomorrow.

Oh well on to a new adventure for the day, and a tour tomorrow. we shake it off, get cleaned up from our unexpected hike this morning and decide to rent some bikes and head back to the black sand beach we spotted as we were walking. We bike to the beach and start to walk on the cool sand, I have never saw black sand, it looks so much different from the pictures i had googled ...
