          ... hour horse changes every 20 miles or so. You eat your beans and coffee and take care of personal business during those breaks too.

          This stage business was considered a real upgrade to travel as you could get from St. Louis to San Francisco in 17 days versus 4 -6 months by wagon train or schooner around the horn.

          ... each other over and we even got to witness a couple of fights break out. It was actually hilarious to watch. The players would throw their gloves on the floor and just go at each other and the ref didn't even do anything until they hit the floor. Brilliant entertainment!! The Gulls got thrashed 3-0!
