When we entered the zoo the first animals we saw were the bright pink Caribbean flamingos (not the plastic ones you find in wogs front yards).next up were the Gorillas and birds, one gorilla was being abit cheeky with its pose, showing everyone it's butt up against the glass.we walked through the aviary which was massive but didn't spend much time in there because Katie is apparently a ...

Knowing we should be in bed early to be ready for our early rise on Saturday (flight leaves at 7:15 AM) we wandered back through Old Town catching our last sights and sounds of Southern California. we drove 18 miles. We walked many miles. Pedometers are not the easiest thing to keep in a position to register.. We walked a lot. The thing at the zoo is that it is very hilly!! And it is a botanical garden as well. Signs were somewhat confusing since it is so vast. It is a fantastic experience.

She was my rock through all the ups and downs, especially of that first year of college and it was thus especially difficult to say goodbye to her, because it was then that I realized I wouldn't have my "security blanket" with me in NY... Dammit, here come the **almost** tears again... I spent most of Thursday with ...

... clues around the resort so they could get the combination to open the treasure chest in our room.

As we are treasured guests, we are able to enter the park in the morning half an hour earlier than the regular joes so we don't have to fight the crowds. Mind you, there won't be many people there tomorrow morning.

I am looking forward to a good night's sleep and a long hot shower in the morning!
