    I'm still not acclimated -- if I will ever be -- to the humidity, so I was pretty beat by the time evening came. Surprisingly, even "modern" homes don't routinely come with air conditioning, with most folks making do with a window AC or two, and strategically placed fans. Howard and Margaret both brought jackets for the fireworks show (held in a local athletic field), but I knew I wouldn't need one.
