Hit the BP station in Metropolis, IL randomly and the boys were excited to find out that it's Superman's hometown. Even the gas station had these sweet cutouts to pose with. They want to collect stickers from all of the states as we travel so we were able to get a fun one. As we travel further south the people seem to get more polite. Less fashionable perhaps but definitely kinder and more considerate. Made it to Kentucky!!! ...
... two hills if you were wondering what that was. Dusty was our tour guide and he is a descendant of Mr. Jack. He was a total hoot with his southern boy drawl and catchy way of explaining things. Every bottle of Jack comes out of that small distillery with over eleven million barrels produced each year. Mike feels much better knowing he is not alone in the consumption of said spirits. In the early evening I drove into the Land Between the Lakes recreation area to try and find the primarily-submerged location of Fort Henry, and although I made a quick walk to the shoreline near the historic location I wasn't able to take the time to explore the trails leading to the few remaining rifle pits ...
... at the Blackhorse Pub and sampled some of their home brew. Wanted to catch the show at the Roxy, but the theater was dark. Clarksville is a great town with large number of breweries, wineries, and distilleries. It is also on the Civil War trail and well worth a stop if you are traveling this way.

It is an amazing setup, with the ability to simulate all weather and water conditions, including night-time, stormy weather with wind, rain, lightning and waves. Pretty impressive stuff, it would be incredibly daunting and scary for these guys. This is known as "Dunker Training"
