... br> Downtown Memphis ... once I could find the parking garage Kristin told me to park in.... was really awesome. It was HOT (95ish) but it's a cute little down town area and we were able to sit outside at a restaurant with Toby and it was in the shade. It was great to catch up and have a milkshake! When I left Memphis, that's when the real fun began...

Left Memphis this morning in the glorious sunshine although a little on the chilly side (47F). Not much to say on this day except that we basically drove clear across Arkansas. If all goes well we will be in Tye, Texas tomorrow, ...

As it happened, we did not attend the last day of the conference due to unforeseen circumstances. We spent a fairly quiet day; we did tour Little Rock a bit more. We found the Little Rock Central High School site (still a working high school). The brave young men and women who attended that school impressed me, and when I saw the video, I was also impressed at the thought of the parents who had to send their children to this school every day...you ...

... zillions of years ago). We didn’t find any, just some cool rocks, but they average a couple of small diamonds per day found by park visitors. There was a nice trail to the Little Missouri River with an overlook where you could see a few teepees across the water. By far the best place we’ve stayed so far!

I'd say this is what we were hoping for when we planned this trip, and it feels good.
